The Associated General Contractors of California (AGC of California) recently celebrated excellence in the construction industry by awarding the prestigious Constructor Awards to outstanding companies and individuals. The event, held on February 7, 2025, at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco, honored the achievements of those who have shown innovation, leadership, and expertise in the field of construction.

As part of the evening’s celebrations, AGC of California also marked the installation of its incoming leadership team, setting the stage for continued progress within the state’s thriving construction sector.

“Every project in construction brings challenges and complications, but it's through teamwork, ingenuity and perseverance that we rise to overcome them,” said Pat Kelly, President of AGC of California for 2025, and Vice President of Operational Excellence at Granite Construction Co. “This is why AGC of California proudly takes a moment each year to celebrate the extraordinary work that unites our communities and defines our remarkable industry.”

The Constructor Awards program is a hallmark of AGC of California's commitment to recognizing the exceptional work of its members. The winners are selected through a rigorous judging process, which includes both preliminary evaluations by an awards committee and final selections by a panel of experts.

The Achievement Awards celebrate individuals who have made significant contributions to the construction industry, with categories such as the Construction Education Friend Award, which honors those dedicated to advancing construction education and nurturing the next generation of professionals.

This year, the Owner of the Year Award went to San Francisco International Airport, recognized for its exceptional collaboration and partnership with contractors, as well as its outstanding teamwork.

“At AGC of California, we take pride in celebrating the construction industry every day. This industry is vital to the success of California, and we are honored to serve and support its professionals who push boundaries and achieve excellence,” said Peter Tateishi, CEO of AGC of California. “Congratulations to all of our award winners and honorees; your dedication to sustaining and advancing our way of life is deeply appreciated.”
