The announcement was made during a groundbreaking ceremony attended by local and regional leaders, including representatives from the Montgomery City Council, County Commission, Chamber of Commerce, and Alfa’s construction and design partners.

“We are excited to begin renovations at our new building,” said Jimmy Parnell, Alfa and Federation President. “We are proud of our Alabama roots. Alfa was created by farmers and has been headquartered in Montgomery since the beginning. It’s only fitting our employees will begin moving into this building as Alfa celebrates its 80th anniversary late next year.”

The relocation represents a major investment in Montgomery’s business community, reinforcing Alfa’s longstanding commitment to the Capital City.

Anna Buckalew, President and CEO of the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce, said the company’s decision strengthens the region’s economic vitality and corporate landscape.

“Corporate headquarters matter. They bring high-wage jobs, civic leadership and regional momentum,” Buckalew said. “Alfa’s decision to reinvest and relocate its corporate headquarters in Montgomery speaks volumes about its commitment to the Capital Region. We’re proud to partner with one of Alabama’s most respected companies and to support its continued growth and future success.”

The new headquarters project brings together some of the most recognized names in architecture, construction, and real estate.
Cushman & Wakefield / EGS is serving as the project’s commercial real estate adviser, while Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) provides architectural and engineering services.

“It’s a unique privilege to design the new Alfa headquarters, especially with this being a building we first designed 20 years ago,” said Mark Coyle, GMC Architecture Department Leader. “We’re thrilled to give this space new life and craft a workplace for their employees that celebrates Alfa’s legacy while looking ahead to the future.”

Brasfield & Gorrie, one of the Southeast’s largest construction firms, will lead the renovation effort.

“This project represents the next chapter in a long-standing partnership among Alfa Insurance, GMC and Brasfield & Gorrie,” said Robby Hayes, Regional Vice President and Division Manager. “Together, we’re bringing new life to a familiar place — transforming a building we helped create into a modern headquarters designed for collaboration, efficiency and longevity. We’re proud to help advance Alfa’s vision and continue building on a shared legacy of excellence in Montgomery.”

Alfa’s leadership emphasized that the renovation is not just a physical move but a strategic investment in its employees and the Montgomery community.

“Our goal from Day 1 was to displace the fewest employees possible, while providing the Alfa family a more modern workplace that better fits our needs,” Parnell said. “We appreciate the County Commission, City Council and Chamber of Commerce for recognizing the value Alfa brings to the River Region by creating jobs and developing civic leaders who give back to the community.”

The building’s redesign will include modernized workspaces, enhanced sustainability features, and technology-enabled offices aimed at fostering collaboration and innovation among Alfa’s workforce.

When completed, the new headquarters will serve as a hub for Alfa’s statewide operations, housing key departments and executive offices. The move underscores the company’s goal to maintain its strong Alabama identity while preparing for the next generation of insurance and agricultural leadership.

Construction is expected to be completed by late 2026, with phased employee relocation beginning in mid-2026 — coinciding with Alfa’s milestone 80th anniversary celebration.
