A new student housing development is ready to welcome residents at Purdue University Northwest's Hammond campus, expanding on-campus living options as colleges continue investing in residential infrastructure to support enrollment growth and student engagement. Berglund Construction has completed Calumet Hall, a residence project that will open for the Fall 2026 semester.
Berglund Construction delivered the 42,000-square-foot Calumet Hall residence hall, adding 150 beds to Purdue University Northwest's Hammond campus.
Located at the northeast corner of 173rd Street and Woodmar Avenue, the facility provides students with convenient access to academic buildings, the Student Union Library, and other campus amenities. The project was designed to strengthen the university's residential capacity while supporting an increasing number of students choosing to live on campus.

The residence hall includes modern student accommodations with shared spaces intended to support academic and campus life. Amenities include study areas, community lounges, a communal kitchen, and laundry facilities.
The new building is designed to provide additional housing while encouraging student interaction and creating spaces for collaboration outside the classroom.
Students are expected to begin occupying the facility for the Fall 2026 academic term.
