Expanding educational facilities remains a priority for schools seeking to support enrollment growth and enhance student programs. Brasfield & Gorrie has reached the structural topping-out milestone for an 81,500-square-foot expansion at Christ Church Episcopal School in Greenville, marking the completion of the project's structural framework.
The expansion includes two new buildings designed to enhance both classroom instruction and athletic programming.
A 22,000-square-foot academic facility will provide classrooms, laboratories, and collaborative learning spaces while connecting to the existing campus through an elevated pedestrian bridge.
The project also includes a 59,500-square-foot sports performance center featuring a basketball court, strength and conditioning areas, hydrotherapy facilities, turf training space, and locker rooms. Improvements to the campus roadway network are also part of the project.
Brasfield & Gorrie is serving as general contractor for the project, with McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture providing architectural services.
Construction activities are being coordinated with school operations to minimize disruptions during the academic year. Project scheduling also includes the early delivery of the practice field to support upcoming athletic programs.
The expansion is expected to be completed during the summer of 2027.
Education construction continues to generate opportunities for contractors as schools invest in modern learning environments and athletic facilities. For construction owners and education leaders, phased construction planning and coordination on occupied campuses remain essential to maintaining operations while delivering long-term capital improvements.
