Buildots Expands AI Capabilities with Genda Acquisition

Buildots, a Tel Aviv–based leader in construction technology and project management, has taken another major step toward building a unified AI-driven delivery platform with its acquisition of workforce and safety management company Genda, according to an Oct. 16 announcement.

While financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, the acquisition is strategically aimed at integrating workforce data with AI-powered construction progress tracking, helping contractors achieve full visibility into the relationship between labor productivity, project performance, and safety outcomes.

Austin, Texas-based Genda, which will continue to operate independently under the leadership of CEO and Founder Erez Dror, counts several of the nation’s largest contractors among its clients — including DPR Construction, Hensel Phelps, Clark Construction, JE Dunn, and ANDRES Construction.

Connecting Data, Safety, and Productivity

Buildots’ platform is widely recognized for using artificial intelligence and computer vision to track onsite progress. By combining this with Genda’s capabilities in workforce monitoring, sensor-based tracking, and equipment cost analysis, the companies intend to provide contractors with a single, scalable source of truth for both labor management and project execution.

According to the companies, this integration will deliver:

  • Full visibility into the connection between labor inputs, schedule progress, and overall productivity.
  • Actionable insights into whether delay mitigation strategies are truly effective.
  • Data-driven feedback loops that inform future planning, reduce inefficiencies, and improve safety performance.
“Together, we’ll shine a light on construction productivity to reveal hidden insights. The result will equip contractors to react faster to what’s happening, and also plan more effectively,” said Dror in the announcement.

This combination represents a growing trend among construction technology firms to unify fragmented project data into intelligent ecosystems. While many platforms specialize in either project management or workforce analytics, the Buildots–Genda partnership seeks to bridge that gap — offering a holistic view that could transform how jobsite efficiency is measured and improved.

A Stronger AI Ecosystem

The acquisition follows Buildots’ $45 million Series C funding round completed in May, which brought its total raised capital to $166 million. That funding, led by investors such as Lightspeed Venture Partners and TLV Partners, positioned Buildots as one of the most well-financed firms in the construction tech (contech) space.

The company’s AI-powered system already allows site managers to compare as-built progress with design models, helping identify discrepancies and reduce costly rework. The addition of Genda’s labor and safety intelligence now expands that visibility beyond design and scheduling — into real-time workforce behavior, efficiency patterns, and safety compliance metrics.

“When contractors use Buildots to spot delay risks and create mitigation plans, they naturally want to know which levers worked. Our goal is to make this crystal clear,” said Roy Danon, co-founder and CEO of Buildots.

This data-driven transparency could help large contractors react more quickly to field challenges, ensuring corrective actions deliver measurable improvements.

Industry Context: The Rise of Integrated Contech Platforms

The Buildots–Genda merger underscores a broader consolidation trend in the contech industry, where leading AI and data firms are merging to create comprehensive platforms. As construction firms face growing pressure to improve efficiency amid labor shortages, integrated digital ecosystems are emerging as key differentiators.

By connecting progress tracking, safety monitoring, and labor optimization, the companies aim to tackle one of construction’s most persistent challenges — limited visibility into the real drivers of productivity loss.

In an industry where delays and cost overruns are often caused by fragmented communication and disconnected systems, the Buildots–Genda combination signals a movement toward unified project intelligence.

With the merger, Buildots positions itself not just as a project tracking software but as a full-spectrum construction performance engine — one capable of transforming raw site data into actionable business insights.
