WESTMONT, Ill. — Construction on East Burlington Avenue is scheduled to begin April 13, bringing temporary road closures and traffic adjustments as crews work to realign and improve a key roadway in the village.

The project will close East Burlington Avenue to through traffic between Cass Avenue and Linden Avenue for the duration of construction. Officials said the work is expected to be completed this summer.
A central component of the project includes shifting the existing East Burlington “S-curve” approximately 150 feet east to better align with North Linden Avenue. The adjustment is designed to improve traffic flow and roadway safety in the area.
During construction, access to certain areas will be modified, though efforts are being made to minimize disruptions for residents and businesses.
The Cass-Burlington parking lot will remain accessible throughout most of the project via the alley entrance off East Irving Street. However, officials noted there may be a few days in April when the lot will be temporarily inaccessible due to construction activity.
Village officials are encouraging drivers to plan alternate routes and allow extra travel time while the road closure is in effect.
To help offset parking and access challenges, the village is coordinating temporary valet services during peak evening hours.
Valet operations will be available on Fridays and Saturdays from 5 p.m. to midnight. Two valet stands will be set up along Cass Avenue just north of Burlington Avenue. One station will serve southbound traffic on the west side of Cass Avenue, while the other will accommodate northbound traffic on the east side.
The initiative is intended to support nearby businesses and maintain accessibility for visitors during the construction period.
Project updates will be posted on the village’s construction updates webpage as work progresses. For additional information, residents and stakeholders can contact Village Engineer Greg Ulreich.
The East Burlington Avenue improvements are part of ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure, improve roadway alignment and maintain safe and efficient transportation routes within the community.
