The blaze broke out just before 5 p.m. at Crossfield Products on Valley Road and quickly intensified, growing into a six-alarm fire as firefighters worked to contain the flames and prevent structural collapse.

Authorities urged residents in surrounding neighborhoods to keep windows and doors closed, citing concerns that air quality could be affected by the dense smoke generated by the fire.

Roselle Park Mayor Joseph Signorello Jr. described hazardous conditions at the scene, noting early explosions caused by materials stored inside the building.

“A lot of black smoke, there was a lot of explosions in the beginning from the propane tanks, resins, they're a flooring company, so oils, but we made sure everybody was safe and we did a perimeter to make sure the walls don't collapse,” Joseph Signorello, Jr, Roselle Park Mayor, said.

Firefighters established a safety perimeter around the warehouse as crews battled the flames and monitored the stability of the structure. The presence of flammable materials—including oils, resins, and propane tanks—contributed to the intensity of the fire and complicated suppression efforts.

Despite the scale of the blaze and the hazardous materials involved, fire officials reported no injuries. Emergency responders remained on scene for several hours as they worked to bring the fire under control and reduce lingering hot spots.

Officials have not yet released information on the cause of the fire or the extent of damage to the warehouse. An investigation is expected once conditions are deemed safe.
