Metro Atlanta has secured a major win for its growing infrastructure sector as FlatironDragados, now the second-largest civil construction firm in North America, announced it will establish its new U.S. corporate headquarters in the region. The move follows the recent merger of Colorado-based Flatiron and the North American division of Spain’s Dragados, combining decades of expertise in large-scale transportation and civil engineering projects.

The headquarters will be located at the Perimeter Summit campus in Atlanta, a strategic location offering proximity to key transportation hubs, including Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, just 15 miles away. The company will occupy the top floor of the building, designing approximately 25,000 square feet of state-of-the-art office space tailored for collaborative project development and advanced engineering operations. FlatironDragados plans to move into the new facility by the end of 2025.
Peter Davoren, Chairman of FlatironDragados, emphasized the significance of the decision, stating,
“This represents an exciting new chapter for our company and creates opportunities for our people to grow. We look forward to leveraging the region’s exceptional talent, partnering with top civil construction firms, and advancing solutions that shape sustainable, resilient infrastructure across North America.”

The company is already making its mark in Georgia, taking a lead role alongside ACS Infrastructure and other partners on the $4.6 billion SR 400 Express Lanes project. This massive initiative aims to reduce congestion, improve travel times, and strengthen economic connectivity across the Atlanta metro area.
Javier Sevilla, CEO of FlatironDragados, underscored the long-term strategic value of the relocation, saying,
“Locating our headquarters in Georgia is a strategic step that reflects our long-term vision. Georgia’s deep talent pool and location make it the ideal place for FlatironDragados to grow and serve clients. We are proud to invest in this community and to partner with local companies to deliver transformative infrastructure that will benefit generations to come.”
Industry observers note that Georgia’s infrastructure pipeline and business-friendly climate make it an attractive base for large contractors. With major transportation, bridge, and rail upgrades planned across the Southeast, FlatironDragados is positioning itself to be at the forefront of delivering the next generation of resilient, sustainable infrastructure for the region and beyond.
