Funk Construction Welcomes New Owners in Leadership Transition

Caroline Raffetto

Lebanon County, PA — Funk Construction, a third-generation, family-owned builder serving Central Pennsylvania for more than 85 years, announced the addition of two new owners, marking a major step in the company’s ongoing succession planning.

Jessica Kosoff, Vice President of Construction, and Nathan Fry, Vice President of Preconstruction and Planning, will join existing owners Ken Funk, President, and Dave Funk, Vice President, in guiding the company into the next generation of leadership.

“This is a milestone for Funk Construction,” said Ken Funk. “Jess and Nathan have been integral to our success for more than two decades, shaping our company and culture. As we approach a generational transition in leadership, we are confident that Funk Construction’s legacy is in trusted hands with these two dedicated leaders.”

“At Funk Construction, we have always prioritized mentorship and developing future leaders,” added Dave Funk. “Welcoming Jess and Nathan as owners ensures we’ll carry that tradition forward and continue building for generations to come.”

Leadership Background

Jessica Kosoff began her career as a project engineer at CRSS, a Jacobs Engineering Company, contributing to the construction of the NOAA Laboratory and Office Facility in Boulder, Colorado. She later worked in estimating at Alexander Constructors and as a Project Engineer at Barclay White Skanska before joining Funk Construction in 2004. Kosoff holds a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Nathan Fry brings over 30 years of experience in design and project planning. He began in kitchen, bath, and home design before studying Architectural Design at the Thompson Institute, where he also taught for three years. Fry gained additional experience with Crabtree Rohrbaugh Architects and Kaylor Architects, joining Funk Construction in 2005 as a project planner and estimator.

Company Legacy and Growth

Founded over 85 years ago, Funk Construction has built a reputation as a trusted contractor for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects across Central Pennsylvania. The company emphasizes mentorship, leadership development, and continuity in family-led management, ensuring that both corporate culture and operational expertise are preserved as ownership transitions to the next generation.

“Our commitment to mentorship has always been a cornerstone of Funk Construction,” Kosoff said. “Being part of the ownership team allows us to continue fostering growth, innovation, and excellence in every project we deliver.”

Fry added, “Joining the ownership team is both an honor and a responsibility. We look forward to carrying forward the company’s rich history while adapting to new challenges in construction and project management.”

The addition of Kosoff and Fry as owners not only solidifies Funk Construction’s succession plan but also reinforces the company’s focus on long-term growth, client relationships, and workforce development in Central Pennsylvania’s construction sector.
