G2 Consulting Group, a Troy, Michigan-based provider of geotechnical, environmental and construction engineering services, has acquired Construction Testing Services (CTS), a long-established firm serving clients across Michigan’s Bay Area and Thumb region. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded more than 40 years ago, CTS has built a reputation for construction materials testing and geotechnical engineering services across public and private sector projects. Through the acquisition, G2 adds a nine-person team and deep regional relationships to its growing Michigan platform, which now employs approximately 140 people across offices in Troy, Ann Arbor and the Chicago area.
The transaction further strengthens G2’s in-state presence while expanding the range of services available to CTS customers. While both firms share core capabilities in geotechnical engineering and materials testing, G2 also brings additional environmental engineering and construction-related services that it expects to extend to CTS’s existing client base.
Executives from both companies described the deal as a succession-focused transaction aimed at preserving CTS’s operating approach, client relationships and workplace culture. G2 stated that it plans to retain CTS’s existing office and staff, while enhancing back-office support and providing access to broader technical resources.
Integration and transition planning is currently underway, with leadership emphasizing continuity for both employees and customers as a key priority.
