TEMPE, Ariz. — June 26, 2025 — Google Fiber has officially begun construction on its high-speed internet network in Tempe, marking the tech giant’s latest investment in Arizona’s rapidly growing digital infrastructure.

According to city officials, crews are currently installing nearly 85,000 linear feet of fiber throughout Tempe’s Warner Ranch Neighborhood. The project, which is being closely coordinated with local road repaving efforts, is designed to maximize efficiency and minimize impact on residents.

Google has pledged it will “work closely with the city and county to minimize disruption to residents,” a message aimed at reassuring homeowners as construction ramps up across residential streets.

The new service rollout will offer multi-gigabit residential internet plans starting at $70 per month and scaling up to $150 per month for faster tiers. For businesses, Google Fiber will provide either two-gigabit service at $250/month or one-gigabit service at $100/month, delivering competitive pricing in a market that continues to see increasing demand for faster, more reliable broadband.

“Google Fiber wants to be in Arizona like a lot of businesses want to be in Arizona,” said Will Novak, Google Fiber’s government and community affairs manager.
