The acquisition enhances Granite’s ability to deliver end-to-end construction services while increasing its access to key materials resources, positioning the company to capitalize on continued growth in infrastructure and development across the state.

“We are excited to welcome the Kenny Seng Construction team to Granite,” said Kyle Larkin, Granite president and CEO. “Kenny Seng Construction is a highly complementary business that strengthens our vertically-integrated home market strategy in Utah. Their end-to-end service capabilities, strong position in education and civil infrastructure, and established materials platform align well with our focus on building durable, resilient businesses that create long-term value for our shareholders.”

Expanding Vertical Integration and Service Capabilities

The deal brings a wide range of capabilities under Granite’s umbrella, including earthwork, site preparation, concrete construction, utility installation, project management and transportation services. It also adds aggregate production and materials processing operations, further reinforcing Granite’s vertically integrated model.

By incorporating these services, Granite is expected to streamline project delivery, reduce reliance on third-party suppliers and improve efficiency across its construction operations in Utah.

The acquisition also provides exposure to diverse and resilient end markets, including education and civil infrastructure, as well as private sector development. These sectors are expected to remain active amid ongoing population growth and investment in public works throughout the region.

A key component of the acquisition is the addition of significant materials resources, including a hard rock quarry with approximately one million tons of annual production capacity. The site also includes an estimated 45 million tons of reserves and measured and inferred resources, offering long-term supply stability.

Granite noted additional growth opportunities tied to the potential development of a sand and gravel pit, which could further expand its materials portfolio and support future construction demand.

Financially, Kenny Seng Construction contributes approximately $150 million in annual revenue, with an expected adjusted EBITDA margin in the high teens, making it an attractive addition to Granite’s existing operations.

The acquisition aligns with Granite’s broader strategy to invest in high-growth markets and strengthen its position as a full-service civil construction provider. Founded in 1922, the company has continued to expand its capabilities through targeted acquisitions and infrastructure project awards across the United States.

Company officials said the integration of Kenny Seng Construction will support long-term growth, improve operational efficiency and enhance Granite’s ability to deliver complex infrastructure and development projects in Utah and beyond.
