The project marks the expansion of Hilton’s events-focused Signia brand into a new Georgia market, following the successful debut of Signia by Hilton Atlanta, which opened in 2024 as Atlanta’s largest ground-up hotel development in four decades. Additional Signia properties are already in development in Indianapolis and San Antonio, Texas, as Hilton targets major meeting and convention hubs across the U.S.

Hilton will manage the property, which is owned by the Savannah-Georgia Convention Center Authority and developed in partnership with the Georgia World Congress Center Authority.

Designed for Meetings, Conferences and High-End Group Travel

Directly connected to the convention center, Signia by Hilton Savannah will feature:

  • 34,000+ square feet of meeting space
  • A 13,000-square-foot ballroom
  • Five food and beverage venues
  • Outdoor pool and fitness center
  • Group wellness experiences
  • Club Signia executive lounge access

Guest rooms will be outfitted with high-end finishes, modern open-concept layouts, and smart room technology, while the lobby will showcase architecture inspired by local Savannah design elements.

Expected Boost to Local Economy

Local officials say the hotel will be a key driver for the city’s growing convention and tourism economy.

The hotel “will ensure that our Convention Center will perform at maximum capacity augmenting our vibrant tourism industry and creating upward mobility and prosperity for all,” SGCCA Board Chairman Mark Smith said.

Hilton, which already operates nearly 270 hotels across Georgia, sees the Savannah addition as an important step in reinforcing its leadership in the regional hospitality sector.

“With the hotel, Hilton expands its presence across Georgia,” said Amy King, vice president of luxury and mixed-use development at Hilton, noting its synergy with the 976-room Signia in Atlanta.

Opening Timeline

Signia by Hilton Savannah is scheduled to open in 2028, positioning the riverfront city as a premier convention destination in the Southeast while providing Hilton with another flagship anchor for its growing meetings and corporate travel portfolio.
