HITT Contracting Breaks Ground on Sustainable Virginia HQ

HITT Contracting, a leading US-based commercial builder, has officially broken ground on its new headquarters in Falls Church, Virginia. This state-of-the-art facility, spanning 270,000ft² across six stories, will be a hub for innovation and sustainability in the construction industry. Designed in collaboration with Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University’s Coalition for Smart Construction, the headquarters will feature a 40,000ft² research lab focused on solving key industry challenges like sustainability, workforce shortages, and material innovation.

The project, designed by Gensler, is aiming for LEED Platinum certification and incorporates several sustainable features, including a 100,000ft² solar canopy, wind turbines, and an advanced "power over ethernet" system. Additionally, HITT's commitment to sustainability extends to the office furniture, which is made from recycled materials using 3D printing technology, and the HyperWall building envelope system, providing a lighter and more efficient construction solution.

The headquarters' location near the West Falls Church Metro station will offer convenient access to transportation for the company’s team members. CEO Kim Roy emphasized the building’s role in fostering innovation, stating, “This building is so much more than an office – it’s a beacon of what’s possible when curiosity, ingenuity, and determination fuse to create a new vision.”

Expected to be completed in early 2027, this headquarters marks an important milestone for HITT Contracting as it continues to lead in sustainable and forward-thinking construction practices.
