Construction Owners Editorial Team

Highlights

  • Hunt Electric appointed Jude Wimberger as its first chief strategy officer.
  • Wimberger brings more than 20 years of experience in commercial strategy, business development and market expansion.
  • He will oversee business development, marketing, estimating and communications.
  • His responsibilities include market selection, customer strategy, acquisition integration and leadership development.
  • Hunt Electric operates as an employee-owned member company of Evergreen Holdings.

Strategic leadership over market selection, estimating and business development can help electrical contractors align growth ambitions with operational capacity. Hunt Electric has appointed Jude Wimberger as its first chief strategy officer, establishing an executive role focused on identifying opportunities, prioritising markets and supporting the company's long-term direction.

Executive Role Integrates Growth and Business Development

Based in Eagan, Minnesota, Wimberger will lead Hunt Electric's business development, marketing, estimating and communications teams. He will also join the executive leadership team, contributing to enterprise strategy, organisational development and leadership planning.

The role will focus on determining which customers, markets and projects best fit Hunt Electric's capabilities. This includes establishing processes for evaluating prospective work and deciding when opportunities do not align with the company's strategic objectives.

Wimberger brings more than two decades of experience in commercial strategy and business expansion. His previous roles include work with medical technology businesses Medtronic, Philips and Endologix. He also founded Pathways Management Services, a consultancy serving midmarket services and manufacturing businesses.

He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management.

Strategy Includes Acquisition Integration and Leadership Development

Wimberger's background includes developing market strategies, implementing deal-approval processes and integrating acquisitions into operating structures designed to support growth.

These capabilities are relevant to Hunt Electric's position within Evergreen Holdings, an employee-owned group whose member businesses operate independently while sharing resources and expertise. Evergreen Holdings also pursues strategic acquisitions to expand its capabilities.

In his new position, Wimberger will work with Hunt Electric's leadership team to align business decisions with staffing, operational capacity and longer-term objectives. Developing future leaders is another stated priority.

Growth Strategy and Electrical Contracting Operations

The appointment establishes a dedicated executive function for coordinating commercial opportunities with estimating, business development and delivery capabilities.

For electrical contractors, evaluating prospective projects involves more than identifying demand. Market selection and estimating decisions must also account for available personnel, technical expertise and the capacity to execute awarded work.

Hunt Electric's new leadership structure places these considerations within a coordinated strategy function. The company's employee-owned model and affiliation with Evergreen Holdings provide additional organisational context for its approach to long-term planning and business expansion.
