For roofing business owners evaluating growth or succession options, the emergence of operator-led platforms adds another structure to the market beyond traditional private-equity acquisitions. LB Capital has launched EM Exteriors, bringing together regional roofing businesses while maintaining their individual identities and targeting a future sale of the combined platform.
EM Exteriors is structured as a network rather than a single operating roofing company. LB Capital said the platform encompasses 15 roofing businesses across 13 states, with more than $150 million in revenue under management and no debt at the platform level.
The businesses remain under their existing local brands and retain their teams and local leadership. The platform provides shared operational infrastructure, including systems, leadership resources, technology and financial visibility.
The announcement identifies Planet Roof, Roofing Pups, TruChoice, High Tide Roofing & Restoration and Gold Seal Roofing among the businesses associated with the platform. Complete transaction terms, including purchase prices, ownership arrangements and EBITDA figures, were not disclosed.
Several management-reported businesses also recorded substantial revenue growth between 2024 and their projected 2026 run rates. Planet Roof is cited at $3.4 million in 2024 revenue compared with a $22.8 million 2026 pace, while Roofing Pups increased from $3.7 million to an $18.1 million pace. TruChoice is reported to have grown from $1.3 million to nearly $12 million over the same period. These figures were provided by management and were not independently audited.
LB Capital's model centers on providing participating roofing businesses with common infrastructure while allowing local operations to remain in place. The platform identifies sales and operating playbooks, technology tools, digital marketing resources and procurement capabilities as components of that shared infrastructure.
The stated strategy differs from a conventional transaction in which an acquirer purchases and integrates a single roofing company into an existing operating platform. EM Exteriors instead seeks to build scale across multiple regional brands and ultimately pursue a collective exit.
The available announcement does not disclose ownership splits, governance provisions, earnout arrangements or the specific mechanisms that would govern a future platform sale. Those terms can materially affect how participating owners realize value from a combination, making transaction structure an important consideration for prospective partners.
Roofing continues to attract consolidation activity from private-equity-backed platforms, strategic buyers and operator-led groups. Brand-retention structures allow acquired businesses to preserve local market identities while gaining access to centralized resources.
For roofing and exterior-services owners considering a transaction, EM Exteriors illustrates the range of structures now available. Owners can evaluate outright control transactions alongside partnership models that retain local brands and combine businesses under a larger ownership structure. The appropriate comparison depends on ownership, governance, capital structure and exit provisions rather than the platform's headline scale alone.
