A new hospitality and wellness development is moving into construction in Central Oregon, adding another large-scale commercial project to the region's pipeline. The CASCADA Bend development combines boutique lodging with wellness-focused amenities and is expected to expand Bend's tourism and hospitality infrastructure when it opens in 2028.
Lewis recently participated in the groundbreaking for CASCADA Bend, a 130,000-square-foot mixed-use hospitality project in Bend, Oregon. Developed by SolTerra and designed by Hacker Architects, the development will deliver a 68-room boutique hotel centered on thermal bathing and wellness experiences.
The project has been planned to serve both visitors and local residents through year-round programming while incorporating sustainable building principles and architecture that responds to Central Oregon's natural environment.
The development will include a thermal spa, rooftop pools and rooftop saunas overlooking the Cascade Mountains. The design also emphasizes biophilic elements intended to strengthen the connection between indoor and outdoor spaces.
Site preparation is already underway, with Lewis leading construction activities as the project advances toward its targeted 2028 completion.
Hospitality developments that integrate wellness amenities continue to represent a growing segment of commercial construction, particularly in destination markets. Projects such as CASCADA Bend require coordination across specialized architectural, structural and building systems to accommodate thermal water features, energy-efficient design and guest-focused amenities while supporting long-term operational performance.
