The construction industry continues to invest in education and career pathways to develop the next generation of skilled professionals. The Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) has recognized a mechanical engineering student with a scholarship aimed at supporting future leaders in mechanical contracting.
MCAA awarded Gabriella Seiden the Alan P. O’Shea Memorial Scholarship, established by the Mechanical Contractors Association of New Jersey in memory of former executive director Alan P. O’Shea.
The scholarship program provides two annual $2,500 awards to students pursuing careers connected to the mechanical contracting industry.
Seiden is expected to graduate from the University of Maryland, College Park, in May 2027 with a degree in mechanical engineering. She has been active in the university’s MCAA student chapter since 2024 and serves as Competition Chair.
Seiden is gaining practical industry experience through an internship with Limbach Company, an MCAA member organization.
Her career goals include pursuing opportunities in estimating, project management and construction operations. She also plans to contribute to future workforce development by mentoring students entering the mechanical contracting field.
MCAA and the John R. Gentille Foundation support scholarship programs designed to encourage students to pursue careers in mechanical construction and related fields.
For mechanical contractors and construction owners, developing a strong talent pipeline remains essential to meeting future project demands. Scholarship and education initiatives help connect students with industry experience, technical training and career opportunities while supporting long-term workforce growth across the construction sector.
