Federal investment in space infrastructure and mission-critical software continues to generate opportunities for contractors supporting national security programs. Space Ground System Solutions Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Parsons Corporation, has been awarded a five-year, $245 million indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract by the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory to support satellite ground system operations and software development.
Under the Blossom Point Tracking Facility Software and Operations Support contract, Space Ground System Solutions will develop, maintain and enhance software used for satellite command, control and mission management.
The scope includes software engineering, testing, configuration management, cybersecurity and operational support for government-owned applications supporting national security space missions. The contract also continues Parsons' longstanding support of the Naval Research Laboratory's satellite operations, a relationship spanning more than three decades.
The work will support the Naval Research Laboratory's satellite ground systems, including applications used for automated satellite command and control, ground equipment management and mission operations.
Parsons provides space systems capabilities that include mission engineering, satellite communications, software-defined architectures, DevSecOps and command-and-control technologies supporting government space programs.
Federal investment in satellite ground infrastructure continues to create opportunities for engineering and technology contractors delivering secure software and mission support systems. While the contract centers on software and operational capabilities rather than vertical construction, it reflects sustained government spending on critical national security infrastructure and long-term program delivery.
