Procore allows owners to move from reactive project management to proactive portfolio management

CARPINTERIA, Calif., June 17, 2026 — Procore Technologies Inc. (NYSE: PCOR), a leading global provider of construction management software, on Wednesday announced new portfolio management and capital planning capabilities designed to change how owners manage capital projects through consolidated visibility and control across the entire portfolio, from early project concepts and planning to funding and operations.

The new capabilities connect the full capital project lifecycle, the company said, giving owners greater visibility across portfolios to identify risk earlier, strengthen governance and make more informed capital decisions. Embedded Procore AI extends agentic AI capabilities to owners, helping teams identify emerging risks across projects, automate workflows triggered by project events and quickly surface answers about portfolio health using data connected across their capital programs.

Construction programs are growing more complex and capital is becoming more expensive, leaving owners less room for error, according to Procore. Many projects are still being executed against budgets approved 12 to 24 months earlier despite rising costs and shifting market conditions, while disconnected systems limit visibility across projects and financial performance. The company cited industry data showing that nearly 92% of large capital projects fail to finish on time and on budget, with projects running an average of 20 months late and exceeding original estimates by 80%.

“Owners aren’t waking up worried about just one project. They’re thinking about hundreds of millions, sometimes billions, in capital spread across an entire portfolio,” said Geoff Lewis, SVP of product at Procore. “We’re building capital portfolio management capabilities directly into Procore to give owners that visibility in one place. Combined with embedded Procore AI, these capabilities help owners quickly assess project and portfolio health, surface emerging risks, and get answers grounded in construction data across all of their projects so they can make decisions with confidence instead of piecing together information across spreadsheets and disconnected systems.”

Lewis said the shift reflects a broader change in the economics owners are navigating.

“As the cost of capital rises, the margin for error gets smaller. Owners are operating in a very different economic environment today than they were just a few years ago. Capital is more expensive, project costs remain volatile and owners are under pressure to prove that every dollar invested is creating value,” Lewis said. “For too long, owners have had to piece together information from different spreadsheets and systems that weren’t built for the way they work. With the new portfolio management and capital planning capabilities, Procore is bringing all of that into one place so owners can do more than just manage projects. They can make better capital decisions across their entire business.”

Providing a Connected Foundation for Owners

Capital project owners have long operated without a system purpose-built for the full scope of their role, according to Procore. Project management tools were designed for contractors, and financial platforms were not built for construction, the company said, resulting in a patchwork of spreadsheets, disconnected data and decisions made without a complete picture.

To address those challenges, Procore introduced capabilities designed specifically for owners across the capital lifecycle, from early-stage planning through construction delivery and long-term operations.

They include:

Concept Projects, which helps owners evaluate early-stage initiatives alongside active work, compare investment options and route decisions through approval workflows before capital is committed.

• Portfolio Monitoring, which provides centralized visibility into budget, schedule and risk across active projects, allowing owners to track performance in real time and drill into project-level details when issues emerge.

Owners Hub, which provides personalized dashboards that surface information requiring attention, from financial trends to schedule performance and risk, with views configurable by role so leaders see the insights most relevant to their decisions.

• Capital Planning, which replaces disconnected spreadsheets with a live capital plan that helps owners forecast future spending, prioritize investments and align long-term plans with active projects.

• Funding Source Management, which tracks where project funding comes from and how it is spent, making it easier for owners to manage multiple funding sources, maintain compliance and improve financial accountability.

• Asset Management, which helps owners maintain a connected digital record of their assets across the entire lifecycle, linking equipment and spaces to the documentation, maintenance history, warranties and project information needed to support decisions made during construction and into operations.

Together, the capabilities are intended to give owners connected visibility across their portfolio and asset lifecycle, helping them plan investments, monitor execution and manage assets in a single environment.

“Using Procore has really helped us make strategic planning decisions about where we want to spend capital in order to grow the business and focus on putting good dollars to work,” said Marc DiGuiseppe, Vice President of project delivery at Catalyze.

Lewis described the new suite as a response to a structural mismatch between how owners are now expected to operate and the tools available to them.

“For decades, owners have managed capital programs using systems designed around individual projects. But today’s environment demands a portfolio mindset. Leaders are expected to balance competing priorities, shift investments as conditions change, and demonstrate the value of every dollar deployed. The systems they’ve relied on weren’t built for that reality,” Lewis said. “Our goal with the new portfolio management and capital planning capabilities is to help owners rethink capital delivery by connecting planning, execution, and operations so they can manage capital as strategically as every other part of the business.”

Turning Portfolio Data Into Decisions With Procore AI

Procore AI is designed to help capital project leaders turn project and portfolio data into action. With embedded capabilities such as Deep Search, users can ask questions about individual projects and get answers grounded in specifications, submittals and field documentation, reducing the need to chase down information across teams.

To help capital project leaders identify issues earlier, Procore AI can surface emerging financial, schedule and operational risks across portfolios, the company said, providing greater visibility into trends that may require attention. Procore said its AI tools are built on construction-specific context, drawing from data across millions of projects to help capital project leaders understand not only what is happening across a portfolio, but why, and where action may be needed to reduce future risk.

For Lewis, the value of the AI layer lies less in the volume of data it surfaces than in how quickly it points to what matters.

“Owners don’t need more data. They need earlier insight into what requires action. The challenge is knowing where to focus and catch issues before they become expensive surprises,” Lewis said. “With Procore’s new portfolio management and capital planning capabilities, owners can surface risks earlier, get answers faster and spend less time chasing information.”
