Skanska has appointed Brian Urban as Executive Vice President and General Manager for its Skanska USA Building operations in California, strengthening the company's leadership as it continues expanding across one of the nation's largest construction markets.
Effective immediately, Urban will oversee project operations throughout California, leading initiatives to strengthen customer and partner relationships, support business growth and build on the company's established presence across the state. He will work alongside Skanska's existing California leadership team to maintain momentum in the San Francisco Bay Area and other regional markets.
Urban joins the position with more than three decades of construction industry experience, including 25 years at Skanska. Most recently, he served as Vice President and Account Manager for the company's Seattle operations, where he helped manage a record project backlog while strengthening client relationships and operational performance.
His project portfolio spans aviation, healthcare, industrial, education, municipal, cultural and commercial developments. Urban holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Southern California and a Master of Science in Construction Management from the University of Washington. He is also certified as a DBIA professional and LEED Accredited Professional.
Skanska USA Building President and CEO Clay Haden said Urban's experience in developing teams, executing strategy and delivering results positions him to lead the company's next phase of growth in California.
Skanska's California operations deliver projects across aviation, healthcare, education, science and technology, adaptive reuse and sustainable building sectors. The company said Urban will work closely with local leadership to continue serving clients while expanding partnerships throughout the region.
Urban said his initial focus will be listening to employees, clients and project partners while building on the company's strong relationships and established reputation in California.
The leadership appointment reflects Skanska's continued investment in expanding its California business and supporting the delivery of complex building projects for public and private sector clients.
