Workplace construction continues to evolve as companies seek flexible environments that support collaboration, employee needs and long-term operations. Skender has completed an 83,000-square-foot interior buildout for Harrison Street Asset Management’s new headquarters at The Fulton development in Chicago.
The project provides a redesigned workplace for the real estate and infrastructure investment management firm as it relocates within the city’s Fulton Market district.
Skender served as the general contractor for the three-floor headquarters buildout, completing construction within a 26-week schedule.
The new workplace includes a combination of private offices, open work areas, an executive suite, terrace spaces and an atrium stair connecting the primary office levels. A central café with a full bar and integrated audiovisual capabilities was also incorporated to support company gatherings and internal events.
The design, developed by SCB, incorporates an urban industrial style influenced by the surrounding Fulton Market neighborhood while emphasizing flexibility and functionality.
In addition to completing Harrison Street Asset Management’s office buildout, Skender served as the base building general contractor for the broader 535,000-square-foot Fulton development.
The mixed-use office project includes multiple office tenants along with retail and hospitality amenities, including Gibson’s Steakhouse and Equinox Fitness. The development achieved WELL and LEED Silver certifications.
Office owners and developers continue to invest in adaptive workplace environments that balance employee experience, operational efficiency and building performance. For construction stakeholders, projects such as the Harrison Street headquarters demonstrate the role of coordinated interior construction in delivering modern office spaces within large-scale urban developments.
