Highlights

  • The Council of Chapter Representatives Meeting is scheduled for Dec. 6-8, 2026, in San Diego.
  • The meeting will take place at the Gaylord Pacific Resort & Convention Center.
  • Attendance is limited to chapter executives and councilors.
  • SMACNA is accepting agenda topics through Oct. 2, 2026.
  • Non-agenda matters raised during the meeting require a two-thirds affirmative vote for action.

The upcoming meeting will give chapter leadership an opportunity to address industry issues, submit recommendations and discuss matters affecting SMACNA chapters. Registration is now open for the December Council of Chapter Representatives Meeting, scheduled for Dec. 6-8 in San Diego.

December Council Meeting Details

The three-day meeting will be held at the Gaylord Pacific Resort & Convention Center. Participation is restricted to chapter executives and councilors, with registration information provided to eligible chapter representatives.

The council provides a forum for chapter representatives to bring forward issues for discussion and consideration. Topics may include matters that could result in recommendations to the SMACNA Board of Directors, as well as issues presented for information or council discussion.

For construction industry leaders involved with sheet metal and air conditioning contracting, the meeting provides a channel for chapter-level concerns to be considered within the broader organization.

Agenda Submission Deadline

SMACNA is accepting proposed agenda items ahead of the December meeting. Submissions must be completed through the designated agenda topic process and received by Oct. 2, 2026.

Items submitted by the deadline will be considered for inclusion on the meeting agenda. Topics received after the cutoff generally will be deferred to a subsequent council meeting unless council leadership determines that an issue requires more immediate consideration.

The council also has procedures for addressing matters that arise during the meeting but were not included on the original agenda. Any action on such non-agenda items requires approval from two-thirds of the voting councilors in attendance.

Why It Matters

For participating chapter executives and councilors, the meeting provides a structured opportunity to raise operational, policy and industry matters for consideration at the national organization level. The Oct. 2 agenda deadline gives chapter leadership a defined window to identify issues before the December session.

The Council of Chapter Representatives Meeting is scheduled for Dec. 6-8, 2026, in San Diego, with registration available to eligible participants.
