Construction safety professionals will gather later this month to discuss emerging workplace safety strategies and regulatory developments during the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) Summer 2026 Construction Safety & Health Conference. Southland Industries is among the participating organizations and will contribute research focused on the relationship between lean construction practices and workforce mental health.
Henry Nutt III, business development executive at Southland Industries, is scheduled to speak during a session titled "How Lean Construction Practices May Impact Mental Health" on July 22.
The presentation will examine findings from research funded by the Lean Construction Institute (LCI), including how lean construction methods may contribute to improved project delivery while supporting better mental health outcomes for construction teams. The session will also discuss practical considerations for integrating lean principles into project planning and execution.
The AGC Summer 2026 Construction Safety & Health Conference will bring together contractors, safety professionals, and industry leaders to review workplace safety trends, regulatory developments, and best practices for risk management.
Educational sessions throughout the conference are expected to address safety leadership, workforce health, compliance, and strategies that support safer project delivery across the construction industry.
As construction organizations continue to prioritize both jobsite safety and workforce retention, discussions around mental health and lean project delivery are becoming increasingly relevant. For construction owners and contractors, understanding how operational practices can influence worker well-being may help improve project performance, strengthen safety culture, and support long-term workforce sustainability.
