Natalie Geng has been honored with the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Nashville Branch Young Engineer Award and has also been selected as president-elect of the same branch, where she will step into a formal leadership role later this year.
In addition to her ASCE recognition, Geng is also active within the American Society of Highway Engineers, where she serves on the Middle Tennessee Chapter Board of Directors and leads communications efforts as Public Relations Committee Chair.
Her combined roles position her within a growing network of early-career professionals taking on leadership responsibilities in regional engineering organizations, particularly in transportation-focused disciplines.
At STV, Geng contributes to roadway engineering efforts that include geometric design, traffic control planning, drainage systems, and erosion and sediment control. She also supports the development of construction plans for projects delivered to state and municipal transportation agencies.
Her work reflects the increasing technical complexity of roadway infrastructure projects in fast-growing metropolitan regions, where transportation networks must balance safety, capacity, and environmental constraints.
Professional recognition programs like ASCE’s Young Engineer Award are increasingly used across the industry to highlight emerging leadership and encourage retention of technical talent in public infrastructure sectors.
For engineering firms such as STV, participation in professional societies plays a role in both workforce development and long-term project capability, particularly in transportation-heavy markets like Tennessee.
