A nearly $25 million investment in commercial infrastructure is moving forward in Jefferson Parish as Loop Linen Service expands its operating capacity with a purpose-built laundry facility. Woodward Design+Build broke ground on the 62,000-square-foot project June 24 in Avondale, Louisiana.
The development is intended to accommodate the operational requirements of the long-established linen service provider while providing additional capacity for future business growth.
The new commercial laundry facility will represent a $25.1 million investment in Jefferson Parish, including $16.4 million allocated to the building.
The facility is being planned around production efficiency, workflow and site logistics. Its purpose-built design is intended to give Loop Linen Service additional space to organize operations and accommodate future expansion.
Loop Linen Service, founded in 1929, serves commercial customers across Louisiana and Mississippi. The new facility will allow the business to consolidate its operational needs within a building designed specifically for commercial laundry activities.
The project also is expected to retain 125 local jobs, supporting the company's existing workforce in Jefferson Parish.
Woodward Design+Build is providing integrated architecture, engineering and construction services for the development. The approach brings project disciplines together during planning and construction to coordinate building systems, production requirements, constructability, site conditions and project costs.
For an industrial facility with specialized operational requirements, early coordination between design and construction teams can help align building infrastructure with production processes before construction progresses.
The project also includes infrastructure improvements intended to support the surrounding West Bank area and accommodate continued commercial activity in Jefferson Parish.
The development combines private investment, industrial facility construction and job retention in an established Louisiana business community. The $25.1 million investment will add new commercial infrastructure while supporting the continued operation of a family-owned business with nearly a century of local history.
For construction owners and developers, the project illustrates the role of purpose-built facilities in supporting established businesses that require specialized space, production layouts and infrastructure to expand their operations.
The project broke ground June 24, 2026, with Woodward Design+Build leading the integrated delivery effort for the new facility.
