Transportation planning professionals continue to play a growing role in addressing regional growth and infrastructure challenges. STV announced that Environmental Planner Edi Mihalcea has been selected to participate in the Transit Citizen Leadership Academy, a leadership program focused on mobility, land use and transportation planning in Middle Tennessee.
Mihalcea, based in STV's Franklin, Tennessee, office, will participate in the Transit Citizen Leadership Academy (TCLA), a program administered by the Transit Alliance of Middle Tennessee.
The academy brings together professionals from government, engineering, planning, business and community organizations to examine how transportation systems influence land use, economic development, housing affordability and regional mobility.
Participants will engage in classroom sessions, field experiences and collaborative discussions designed to strengthen understanding of transportation planning across counties and jurisdictions.
STV said Mihalcea's participation aligns with the firm's continued focus on transportation planning and community development. The program is intended to broaden participants' perspectives on regional mobility while encouraging collaboration among transportation stakeholders.
The academy explores strategies for addressing evolving transportation needs as Middle Tennessee continues to experience population and economic growth.
For construction owners, transportation agencies and infrastructure consultants, leadership programs such as the Transit Citizen Leadership Academy help strengthen regional planning expertise and foster collaboration among public and private stakeholders. Enhanced coordination on mobility, land use and infrastructure planning can contribute to more effective transportation project development and long-term community investment.
