Leadership development programs within the engineering industry continue to play a growing role in workforce retention and succession planning as firms expand transportation and infrastructure programs across the Southeast.
STV announced that Jennifer Bergwall and Lina Campuzano, based in the company’s Duluth, Georgia, office, completed the American Council of Engineering Companies Georgia Future Leaders Program, a professional development initiative designed for emerging industry leaders.
The ACEC Georgia Future Leaders Program is a yearlong curriculum focused on leadership skills, business operations, financial performance and industry policy. Participants engage with professionals from engineering firms across the state while developing capabilities tied to project delivery, client management and team coordination.
Jennifer Bergwall works as a structural engineer supporting bridge and rail infrastructure assignments throughout Georgia and the broader Southeast region. Her project experience includes structural design, quality assurance and coordination with the Georgia Department of Transportation on public-sector programs.
Lina Campuzano supports transportation improvement projects across Georgia, including roadway expansion, bridge replacement and intersection upgrades. Her work spans planning, design and agency coordination activities tied to transportation infrastructure development.
Engineering and construction firms continue investing in leadership development programs as transportation agencies and public owners advance long-term infrastructure programs. Workforce initiatives aimed at early- and mid-career professionals have become increasingly important as firms address succession planning, technical knowledge transfer and project management capacity.
Industry organizations such as ACEC have expanded leadership and professional development programming in response to ongoing demand for experienced infrastructure professionals across transportation, transit and public works sectors.
For construction owners, engineering firms and contractors, leadership development initiatives can support project continuity, client coordination and long-term workforce stability. As transportation infrastructure programs increase in scale and complexity, firms are placing greater emphasis on preparing technical professionals for management and operational leadership responsibilities.
Programs focused on business operations, collaboration and project delivery also help strengthen coordination between engineering teams, contractors and public-sector agencies on large infrastructure assignments.
