
Terra Works Inc. is seeking a skilled Laborer/Operator to join its construction team, offering an opportunity for experienced workers to participate in a range of infrastructure and utility installation projects.

The position is full-time and will involve working closely with crew members on job sites to help execute projects safely, efficiently and according to company standards. The company is looking for candidates who demonstrate strong teamwork, reliability and a commitment to safety.
The Laborer/Operator will be responsible for operating heavy equipment while assisting with the installation and repair of underground infrastructure systems. These include municipal water lines, sanitary sewer systems and storm sewer networks.
Workers in the role will assemble and install piping systems made from materials such as metal, PVC, ductile iron and concrete. Responsibilities also include positioning pipes in trenches, backfilling around installed infrastructure using hand tools and ensuring proper placement of valves and fittings.
Additional duties include measuring and cutting pipes, testing installed pipes for leakage and maintaining construction tools and equipment. Workers will also help keep work areas clean and organized throughout project operations.
The role requires familiarity with trenching safety procedures and other construction standards. Candidates should also have working knowledge of construction drawings, blueprints and specifications.
Employees may also use tools such as pipe lasers and surveying equipment during installation tasks. Experience using Trimble GPS technology is considered an advantage, though it is not required.
The company is seeking applicants who are safety-oriented and capable of working in challenging construction environments. The position requires knowledge of occupational hazards and safe operating procedures related to heavy construction equipment and underground utility work.
Applicants should also have an understanding of OSHA trenching regulations, competent person training and confined space safety requirements.
The role often involves physically demanding tasks such as lifting and carrying building materials, tools and supplies. Workers must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and may be required to climb, sit or perform repetitive manual tasks during the workday.
Construction crews frequently work more than 40 hours per week, and employees may need to travel or stay overnight for projects located more than 50 miles from their residence.

According to the company, workers will receive the prevailing wage for job sites where applicable under the Davis–Bacon Act, along with fringe benefits.
