A Fortune 500 retailer with deep roots in the rural lifestyle market is growing its footprint in the Texas Hill Country. Tractor Supply Company — a national chain once linked to country music legend George Strait — has announced a $2.3 million construction project in Bergheim, just northwest of Boerne.

The new 23,729-square-foot store is rising near the intersection of Texas Highway 46 and Rodalyn Drive, where construction crews kicked off work in mid-October. The project filing made with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation on Oct. 31 notes that completion is planned for May 2026, though TDLR cautions that such dates are always subject to revision as work progresses.
While Tractor Supply often plays up its rural spirit, the company is also proud of its wide product range, noting that customers can find nearly everything they need for country living. As the company’s website puts it, shoppers are the “do-it-yourself” type who head to the store for competitively priced essentials for farms, ranches, homes, pets, and livestock.

Even iconic Texans have been part of Tractor Supply’s history. Strait once served as the company’s national spokesman — a partnership that ended in 2021, according to reporting from the Nashville Post — around the same time the retailer became one of the companies pulled into broader political debates about shifting corporate cultural initiatives.
The Bergheim expansion reflects the region’s rapid population growth and increasing demand for agricultural and home improvement supplies as more families move beyond the major cities into acreage communities and ranch-style living.
Tractor Supply already operates more than 2,300 stores nationwide, making it the largest rural lifestyle retailer in the U.S. The business, which has served customers for 85 years, continues to see Texas as a key market for expansion.
The new location will complement the existing Boerne store at 1530 S. Main Street, providing customers additional convenience and supporting a larger regional customer base.
