Construction firms seeking subcontracting opportunities on community development projects will have the opportunity to connect with project leaders during an upcoming outreach event hosted by W. M. Jordan Company. The networking session is designed to introduce prospective trade partners to the William A. Hunton YMCA project and expand participation from local businesses.
W. M. Jordan Company will host the outreach and networking event on Aug. 13, 2026, bringing together members of the project's construction and design team with prospective subcontractors.
The session will provide information about the William A. Hunton YMCA project, upcoming trade opportunities and the procurement process. Participants will also learn about certification resources available to support their businesses.
The event is open to all trade partner firms interested in participating in the project.
W. M. Jordan Company is encouraging participation from small and diverse businesses throughout the region.
While Virginia's Small, Women-owned and Minority-owned (SWaM) business certification is encouraged, it is not a requirement for attending the networking event or exploring project opportunities.
The outreach initiative is intended to broaden engagement with qualified trade partners as the project advances.
For construction owners and general contractors, outreach events such as this help expand subcontractor participation, strengthen local supplier networks and improve access to qualified specialty contractors. Early engagement with prospective trade partners can also support competitive procurement and workforce diversity on community construction projects.
