The announcement, made April 7, comes as construction firms increasingly seek sophisticated risk management solutions to navigate complex international projects and volatile market conditions.

Kolosky brings more than 25 years of leadership experience spanning construction, infrastructure development, investment and risk management. In his new role, he will serve on American Global’s executive leadership team, overseeing international operations and guiding the firm’s expansion strategy.

Leadership Focused on Global Growth and Complex Projects

Based in Rome, Kolosky will lead American Global’s international operations, supporting clients across Europe and other global markets. His responsibilities include managing multinational partnerships and delivering risk solutions tailored to contractors, developers and owners operating in complex regulatory and financial environments.

Prior to joining American Global, Kolosky held senior executive positions with major international construction firms and infrastructure investment organizations. His experience includes leading large-scale infrastructure initiatives, managing public- and private-sector partnerships and navigating cross-border project challenges.

He also spent two decades with Bouygues Construction, where he held leadership roles across Asia and Latin America before serving as managing director in North America and a member of the company’s international executive committee.

“Damien’s exceptional leadership, construction expertise, and deep understanding of global project risk positions American Global well to continue driving global solutions for our clients,” said Michael Marino, CEO of American Global. “His ability to build strong teams, develop strategic partnerships, and deliver sophisticated solutions for contractors will be instrumental as we continue expanding our presence globally.”

Strengthening International Strategy and Risk Expertise

Kolosky emphasized the opportunity to contribute to the firm’s growth at a pivotal time for the construction and insurance sectors.

“I am truly grateful to American Global’s leadership for their confidence and trust,” he said. “Joining a firm with such a strong culture, entrepreneurial mindset, and exceptional depth of expertise is both humbling and energizing. I am honored to join the firm at such a pivotal moment in its international ambition.”

He added, “I know I can rely on the extraordinary competence and commitment of the American Global team, and I am excited to work alongside them to strengthen our European presence and expand our global footprint worldwide.”

American Global, one of the largest privately held insurance and surety brokerage firms in North America, specializes in construction risk management services. The firm supports contractors, owners and developers throughout the lifecycle of projects, addressing risks tied to cost, safety, financing and regulatory compliance.

With offices across North America and Europe, the company is positioning itself to meet growing demand for risk advisory services as construction projects become larger, more complex and increasingly global in scope.

Kolosky’s appointment reflects a broader industry trend toward integrating construction expertise with financial and risk management capabilities, particularly as firms expand into international markets with diverse regulatory requirements and economic conditions.

As global construction activity continues to evolve, leadership with deep cross-border experience is expected to play a critical role in helping firms navigate uncertainty and capitalize on new opportunities.
