AP Celebrates 600 Days of Safety at Tartan High School Construction Project
MINNEAPOLIS – (May 16, 2024) – Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP), a national, family-owned construction management and contracting company, is proud to announce a significant safety milestone at the ongoing Tartan High School construction project in Oakdale, Minn. The project team has achieved 600 consecutive days without a lost time incident, demonstrating AP’s commitment to safety.
AP surpassed 600 days without a lost time incident on the Tartan High School Project. Over 2,000 pre-task planning sessions, 200 safety inspections, and 500 safety observations were conducted to ensure potential hazards were identified and addressed. The team also completed 150 all-hands toolbox discussions addressing relevant projects risks and mitigation strategies. AP also partnered with MNOSHA’s consultation department at Tartan to conduct frequent joint safety walks of the site to ensure compliance and gain insight on industry best practices.
“Safety is our priority at AP, and this achievement demonstrates our commitment to a safe work environment” said Jared Anderson, director of safety at Adolfson & Peterson Construction. “Reaching 600 safe days at Tartan High School is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our entire team, from the project leadership to the skilled craftworkers on the job site. We are incredibly proud of this milestone and remain focused on maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for everyone involved in the project.”
The Tartan High School Project is a combination of a renovation and an addition. The addition features a brand-new three-story classroom wing, competition gym, science labs, administrative offices, a black box theater, a new auxiliary gym, and locker rooms that double as storm shelters. The renovation includes renovating every existing room in the building including all locker rooms, rebuilding the kitchen and cafeteria, demolishing the old classroom towers, and renovating the existing gym into a new kitchen and classrooms. The multi-phased project began in March 2022 and is expected to be completed in August 2025.
“It has been a privilege to work with North St. Paul Schools for so many years,” said Jeff Martin, Project Leader, Adolfson & Peterson Construction. “We’ve developed a strong sense of trust and collaboration, which has been instrumental in achieving continued successful outcomes. This shared commitment to excellence creates a foundation for an even brighter future as we continue working together on the Tartan High School project.”
