C.W. Driver Breaks Ground on Holiday Center at Campbell Hall in Studio City

C.W. Driver Companies has broken ground on The Holiday Center at Campbell Hall, a K-12 independent school in Studio City, California, marking a major step in the school’s CH NEXT campaign to expand learning, dining, athletics and community spaces.

The September 16 groundbreaking begins construction of a new campus facility designed to provide flexible educational environments and expanded resources for Campbell Hall’s growing student population. The Holiday Center is expected to be completed in 2028 and will support a student body of approximately 1,150.

The new facility will include The Idea Center, a multipurpose space intended to support student- and faculty-led projects and community partnerships. Flexible learning spaces will include classrooms designed to adapt as technology evolves, along with dedicated music and dance spaces.

The project will also add a new cafeteria and indoor-outdoor dining areas. The expanded dining facilities will feature a larger kitchen and additional gathering space for students, with outdoor seating designed to support year-round use.

Athletics will receive a significant expansion through a reimagined Garver Gym. The facility will include a CIF regulation-sized gymnasium with seating for up to 800 people, a flexible configuration capable of supporting two to three simultaneous practices, and modern locker rooms.

The Holiday Center is being designed by Gensler, with C.W. Driver Companies serving as general contractor. The project includes construction of a new gymnasium building with cafeteria, exercise and classroom spaces for elementary and high school students. Site work also includes demolition of existing storage structures, the fine arts building, weight room, dance studio and café, along with demolition and reconstruction of the existing Garver Gym southwest stair.

Construction will be phased around the active Campbell Hall campus to minimize disruption to students, faculty and school operations. Temporary learning spaces and classroom relocations will be used as construction progresses.

Campbell Hall has outlined measures to maintain academic, athletic, arts and after-school programs during construction. Construction areas will be fenced and separated from student spaces, while protected pedestrian routes and controlled access points will be maintained.

The project is part of Campbell Hall’s broader effort to create enhanced educational, athletic, fitness, dining and community resources on campus. The completed Holiday Center will serve as a new campus hub while supporting the school’s long-term growth.
