Clune Construction

Chicago, IL – May 28th, 2024 – Clune Construction (Clune) is proud to continue its long-standing tradition of promoting from within by announcing the promotion of five exceptional leaders in its New York office to executive-level positions.

Michael Camier, Patrick Dwyer, Teddy Kalaboukas, Danny Mastropierrro and Eric Sugarman received promotions in acknowledgment of their substantial contributions to Clune and their pivotal role in the company’s future growth.

“These individuals embody Clune’s Values and Behaviors with their commitment to service and leadership,” said Dave Hall, CEO of Clune Construction. “I take great pride in witnessing their ongoing advancement within the company.”

Mike Camier has been promoted to Vice President. Camier’s career in construction began over two decades ago with Laborers Union Local 79. From laborer to Superintendent, he has thrived in high-pressure environments, leveraging his ability to stay focused and deliver exceptional results. Camier excels at optimizing operations and implementing cost-saving strategies while supervising a workforce of over 50 laborers. His passion for construction and commitment to excellence drive success in all projects he manages.

Patrick Dwyer has been named Senior Vice President. He was one of the first employees hired to establish Clune’s New York office, which allowed him to create a robust structure when developing Clune’s field staff. Known in the industry for his strong work ethic, accuracy in managing projects, and ability to overcome complex challenges, Dwyer finds building a strong foundation in Clune’s New York office for the next generation to be the most gratifying part of his job. Dwyer earned his Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from East Carolina University.

Teddy Kalaboukas was promoted to Vice President. His proactive approach and extensive experience in project management and field operations have increased project efficiency and fostered mentorship within the team. Among his notable achievements is the successful management of the logistically challenging concourse improvement projects at LaGuardia Airport. Kalaboukas is recognized for his composed demeanor, detailed communication, and thoughtful leadership style.

Danny Mastropierro was named Vice President. Mastropierro began his career in construction as a union laborer at age 18. He joined Clune as a Superintendent in 2017 and quickly rose through the ranks for his ability to meet tight deadlines and his aptitude for mentorship. Mastropierro is known for his expertise in managing aggressively scheduled high-end buildouts in some of the city’s most notable buildings.

Eric Sugarman has been promoted to Senior Vice President. Over his nearly four-decade career, Sugarman has excelled at building logistically challenging projects in and around New York City, most recently overseeing a portion of the complex terminal improvements at LaGuardia Airport. Dedicated to mentorship, he leaves a positive impact on projects and colleagues and continuously strives for excellence.

“All five of these individuals are invaluable leaders in the New York office. Their day-to-day contributions have had an immense impact on both Clune and our clients,” said Sean Clune, President of Clune’s New York office. “It is a pleasure to work with them each day, and I am excited to continue to move Clune New York forward together.”

Clune is proud of its culture of promoting from within. Many officers started with the company as interns. The average tenure of a Managing Director is 17 years and 20 percent of Clune’s employees have been with the company for over 10 years. This culture has furthered Clune’s continual national recognition on various “Best Places to Work” lists, as well as its designation as a “Most Loved Workplace” by Newsweek Magazine in 2023 and most recently a 2024 “U.S. Best Managed Company.”
