ConstructConnect Launches AI-Powered Takeoff Boost on Google Cloud to Transform Construction Estimating
CINCINNATI — ConstructConnect has introduced Takeoff Boost, a new AI-assisted, computer vision-powered takeoff service built natively on Google Cloud, aiming to improve efficiency and accuracy in construction estimating workflows.
Announced April 22 at Cloud Next ’26 in Las Vegas, the platform is designed to automate the traditionally time-consuming process of takeoff — identifying and quantifying materials required for construction projects — which is critical for accurate bidding, procurement and budgeting.
Takeoff Boost enables estimators, contractors and material suppliers to process digital plan sets rapidly by automatically classifying, detecting and measuring areas, linears and objects. The technology reduces reliance on manual tracing and repetitive tasks, allowing users to focus more on strategic analysis and bid preparation.
“Estimating is where margins are won or lost. Takeoff Boost is designed to give that time back. You drop in the plan set, and in seconds you get structured, usable measurements that estimators can trust,” said Gaurav Singal, EVP and chief technology officer at ConstructConnect. “Google Cloud gives us the performance and scale to deliver that experience consistently for our customers.”
Built for Speed, Reliability and Scale
Takeoff Boost operates entirely on Google Cloud infrastructure, leveraging the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform and Cloud Run supported by NVIDIA GPUs. This setup allows the system to process complex, multi-sheet plan sets in seconds with high throughput and low latency.
Cloud-based storage solutions provide the scalability and security needed to handle large volumes of project data while delivering reliable outputs. According to the company, this architecture enables rapid iteration and deployment of new AI capabilities as demand grows.
“Customers don’t buy AI; they buy the outcomes it enables. ConstructConnect is using Gemini Enterprise and GPU-backed infrastructure to deliver real, measurable impact for contractors and estimators, with the speed and reliability required for production workflows,” said Praveen Rao, global director of manufacturing at Google Cloud.
Advancing Construction Estimating Workflows
The introduction of Takeoff Boost reflects a broader push within the construction industry to modernize preconstruction processes through artificial intelligence. The platform allows users to integrate AI-driven outputs into existing workflows without requiring major operational changes.
Key benefits cited by ConstructConnect include reduced manual takeoff time, improved bid confidence through consistent outputs, faster processing of complex plans and scalable deployment across teams via secure cloud infrastructure.
The company emphasized that the solution has already demonstrated strong adoption among interior trades and general contractors, signaling potential for broader growth across North America’s estimating market.
“Preconstruction has always been where projects are won or lost, and estimators have been doing some of the hardest work in construction with tools that haven't kept pace. Takeoff Boost changes that,” said Jennifer Johnson, EVP and chief product officer at ConstructConnect. “By automating the most time-consuming parts of the takeoff process, we're giving estimators back the hours they need to focus on what actually drives competitive advantage—scope expertise, risk judgment, and strategy.”
ConstructConnect noted that Takeoff Boost is the result of years of investment in artificial intelligence, supported by a team of more than 200 engineers, data scientists and product professionals. The company’s AI-first strategy includes extensive proprietary code and machine learning models integrated across its platform.
The solution is currently available through OnScreen Takeoff, with integration into PlanSwift expected in the near future.
