SAN FRANCISCO, July 1, 2025 — Construction robotics innovator Civ Robotics today announced the completion of its $7.5 million Series A funding round, bringing total capital raised to $12.5 million. The round was spearheaded by AlleyCorp, with strategic participation from Bobcat Company, ff Venture Capital, and existing seed-stage backers. The fresh capital will accelerate product development and fuel the company's ambitious international expansion plans, particularly in renewable energy markets.
The funding milestone comes as Civ Robotics celebrates a landmark year, achieving profitability while deploying more than 100 autonomous robots across construction sites worldwide. This widespread adoption marks a significant shift in an industry traditionally resistant to technological change, signaling growing confidence in robotic automation for critical infrastructure projects.
Central to Civ Robotics' success is its CivDot platform, an autonomous surveying system that delivers unprecedented speed and precision in construction layout tasks. The robots perform surveying operations up to eight times faster than conventional methods while maintaining sub-centimeter accuracy of 8mm (3/100 inch). Designed for ease of use, the system requires minimal training, enabling construction workers across skill levels to execute complex surveying tasks efficiently.
Operating reliably in challenging environmental conditions, each CivDot unit can precisely mark up to 3,000 coordinate points daily, dramatically reducing project timelines while minimizing costly downstream errors. The technology has proven particularly valuable in utility-scale solar construction, where Civ Robotics has contributed to over 20 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity and marked more than 10 million precise coordinates.
"The impact on our solar project timelines has been transformative," said Kelley Brown, Principal Vice President U.S. Renewables at Bechtel, a longtime Civ Robotics partner. "Achieving a six-fold improvement in survey efficiency while maintaining our quality standards has been crucial for keeping large-scale projects on track. After four years of successful deployment, CivDot has become integral to our operations."
The company's growth trajectory reflects broader industry momentum toward automation in construction. Major contractors including Bechtel, Signal Energy Constructors, and Cupertino Electricals have integrated Civ Robotics' solutions into their standard operations, validating the technology's real-world effectiveness across diverse project types.
"Construction robotics represents a critical evolution for our industry," noted Joel Honeyman, Vice President of Global Innovation at Doosan Bobcat. "Civ Robotics has demonstrated clear value creation through proven deployment, making them an ideal partner as we advance automation capabilities across construction workflows."
With profitability achieved and market demand validated, Civ Robotics is positioning for rapid international scaling. The company plans significant expansion into EMEA markets and other global regions, with renewable energy projects remaining a strategic priority. Additional autonomous construction applications are under development, extending the company's technology platform beyond surveying into complementary construction tasks.
"Our founding vision was to eliminate the inefficiencies that plague modern construction," explained Tom Yeshurun, CEO and Co-Founder of Civ Robotics. "This investment from Bobcat and our other partners validates our approach and provides the resources to scale our impact across the global infrastructure sector."
