Chief strategy officer role created to support continued growth

EAGAN, Minn., July 21, 2026 - Hunt Electric, a national electrical design, build and maintenance firm, announced several strategic executive promotions and plans to create a chief strategy officer role as part of its continued focus on growth and operational excellence. The leadership changes are designed to strengthen the company’s executive structure, support continued innovation and position Hunt Electric to execute its long-term strategy.

Jeff Young has been named president of Hunt Electric. In this role, Young will provide enterprise-wide leadership for the company’s operations, helping align strategy, project execution, customer service and business performance across the organization. Working closely with Chief Executive Officer John Axelson and the executive leadership team, Young will focus on strengthening operational discipline, scaling teams and processes, and positioning Hunt Electric for continued growth.

Wendy Richter will step into the role of chief financial officer, succeeding Ron Somerville, who will transition to Evergreen Holdings Corporation as CFO. Richter will lead Hunt Electric’s financial planning and operations, while playing a key role in advancing the organization’s business objectives.

In a newly established role, Keith Colvard will serve as chief construction officer. Colvard will spearhead Hunt Electric’s field workforce development and serve as the company’s technical authority. He also will lead NECA and union relations, strengthening key partnerships and supporting the development of a highly skilled field workforce

Building on its momentum, Hunt Electric is creating the role of chief strategy officer. This position will focus on strategic planning, growth initiatives and market strategy. The CSO will help evaluate growth opportunities, guide market strategy and support decisions about the types of projects and partnerships the company pursues.

Under the updated leadership structure, the president and CFO roles will report to Axelson. The chief construction officer role will report to the president.
