Presented by Fallsafe Walls and Ceilings and Wright Construction Group, the program is organized in partnership with the Lee County School District and the American Subcontractors Association of Southwest Florida. Designed to spark interest in skilled trades, the event allows students to explore real-world construction career opportunities and connect directly with industry professionals.
This year’s edition is set to be the largest yet, with more than 700 students already registered from Lee and Hendry counties. Participants will gain exposure to careers such as carpentry, masonry, electrical, plumbing, roofing, and other skilled trades. Students will also work side-by-side with construction professionals in a variety of interactive exhibits and demonstrations.
“Build My Future is a unique opportunity for students to see the exciting potential a career in construction can offer,” said Phillip Ford, Executive Vice President of Lee BIA. “The building industry is vital to our economy, and this event allows us to inspire the next generation of skilled workers who will continue to drive growth in our community.”
In addition to hands-on activities, the event will feature career resources and guidance, including information on training programs, internships, apprenticeships, and post-graduation career pathways. By showcasing how education ties directly to future job opportunities, the program helps bridge the gap between classrooms and the workforce.
