New offering gives contractors access to coverage from 40+ carriers, instant Certificates of Insurance, pay-as-you-go Workers’ Compensation, and savings of up to 30%
Palo Alto, California — August 31, 2026 — Lumber, the AI-powered construction workforce management platform, today announced a partnership with Coverdash, a leading embedded insurtech platform with access to 40+ major U.S. insurance carriers, to bring a full business insurance experience directly into the Lumber platform.
Through the integration, contractors can compare quotes across carriers, evaluate policies side by side, purchase coverage, access policy information, and manage their insurance without leaving Lumber. The experience spans General Liability, Workers’ Compensation, Commercial Auto, Cyber, Business Owners Policies, Professional Liability, and more. Coverdash customers typically save up to 30% on their business insurance, giving Lumber customers access to competitive coverage alongside the convenience of managing it within the platform they already use to run their business.
For contractors, insurance has traditionally meant another platform, another login, and another workflow separate from the systems they already use to run their business. That fragmentation can create friction at every step, from shopping for coverage to obtaining Certificates of Insurance and managing policies as their business changes. With Coverdash embedded in Lumber, contractors can manage their insurance alongside their workforce, payroll, and compliance workflows, with instant access to the documentation they need to keep projects moving.
Workers’ Compensation is a key example. Required by state law, critical to protecting employees, and often necessary to land new jobs, workers’ comp has historically been disconnected from the payroll systems contractors use every day. Lumber’s integration with Coverdash brings pay-as-you-go Workers’ Compensation into that workflow, allowing contractors to align premiums with payroll rather than relying solely on large upfront payments based on estimated annual payroll.
“Every contractor we talk to says the same thing: cash flow is everything,” said Oleg Pravdin, Head of Product at Lumber. “With pay-as-you-go, premiums move alongside payroll instead of tying up a year’s cash upfront. It’s a small shift that makes a huge difference in how contractors run their business.”
“Construction companies need insurance to protect their businesses, meet contractual requirements, and keep projects moving,” said Bobby Jones, Head of Partnerships at Coverdash. “Yet insurance has historically lived outside the platforms contractors rely on to run their businesses. Partnering with Lumber changes that by bringing the full insurance experience into the workflow contractors already use, from comparing coverage to accessing a Certificate of Insurance and managing policies over time.”
The partnership builds on Coverdash’s experience embedding commercial insurance directly into the platforms where businesses already work, as well as its growing success bringing pay-as-you-go Workers’ Compensation to businesses through embedded partnerships. For Lumber, the integration expands its platform beyond payroll and compliance to help contractors manage another critical part of running and growing their businesses, while giving them a simpler way to access and manage the coverage they need.
Business insurance through Coverdash is available to Lumber customers beginning August 31, 2026.
