Newforma Unveils AI-Powered Tools and Open Ecosystem Strategy at Newforma World 2026
Newforma announced a series of artificial intelligence-powered product innovations and expanded integration initiatives during Newforma World 2026, outlining a technology strategy focused on workflow automation, connected project delivery and flexible modernization for architecture, engineering, construction and owner, or AECO, firms.
The company said its latest roadmap introduces new AI-driven capabilities, open ecosystem integrations and hybrid deployment options designed to help project teams improve efficiency, reduce operational friction and strengthen project information management.
The announcements were made during the company’s annual event in Clearwater, New Hampshire, where executives emphasized a “cloud-first, not cloud-forced” philosophy that allows firms to modernize at their own pace while continuing to support both on-premises and cloud-based environments.
“Customers choose when and how they modernize. We decided not to be cloud-only, and it’s by design,” said Carl Veillette, chief product officer at Newforma. “Everything we build must either lower risk, save time or unlock scale.”
AI Assistant Designed for Project Workflows
A centerpiece of the announcement was the launch of Vojo, Newforma’s new AI assistant built on an agent-driven framework intended to improve access to project information and automate routine tasks.
According to the company, Vojo includes natural language search functionality across project data, AI-powered analysis for BIM models and documents, and AI-assisted submittal review workflows. The platform is also designed to embed intelligence directly into day-to-day project management operations.
One of the first workflow tools tied to the platform is Smart Email Filing, an AI-enabled capability that automatically associates emails with projects and recommends filing locations for RFIs, submittals and action items. Newforma said the tool is intended to help firms maintain more complete and defensible project records while reducing manual administrative work.
The company noted that the AI initiatives are supported through a strategic collaboration with Amazon Web Services, which provides the infrastructure powering the company’s advanced AI development efforts.
“AI is only as powerful as the data it’s built on,” said Ben Schreiner, head of AI and modern data strategy business development at Amazon Web Services. “Newforma’s approach combines secure, scalable AWS infrastructure with an agent-driven AI framework to help AECO teams surface insights, reduce manual effort and make more confident decisions and we're thrilled to be partnering with Newforma.”
Expanded Integrations Support Connected Ecosystem
Newforma also announced several new integrations and partnerships intended to create a more connected technology ecosystem for construction and design firms.
The updates include a new integration between Bluebeam and Newforma Konekt, a partnership with Egnyte, a Microsoft Teams integration focused on preserving defensible communication records and a new connector with OFCDESK for Autodesk Build workflows.
Company leaders said the strategy is intended to give customers greater flexibility while minimizing disruption to existing project delivery processes.
In addition to new integrations, Newforma introduced a simplified modular licensing structure that allows firms to align software purchases with specific user roles and operational needs.
The company also reaffirmed its investment in hybrid modernization, with continued support for Newforma Project Center as part of long-term project management and cloud transition strategies. Officials additionally announced a new FedRAMP Moderate initiative and ongoing efforts to meet advanced compliance requirements.
“We’re building a world where project information is more connected, where the tools teams rely on work better together, and where users can move faster because they see more, sooner, with less friction,” Veillette said.
Founded more than 20 years ago, Newforma provides project and information management software for the AECO industry and says its platforms support more than 20 million projects globally.
