R.D. OLSON CONSTRUCTION BRINGS $116 MILLION QUIET LUXURY RESORT TO SEDONA

The general contractor broke ground on the 70-room Senoa Resort & Spa, a villa-style resort designed to preserve native land while stimulating the local economy
SEDONA, AZ – September 16, 2026 – R.D. Olson Construction, a leading general contractor with expertise in the hospitality space, broke ground on Senoa Resort & Spa, a quiet 70-key luxury wellness resort spanning 11.5 acres in Sedona, Arizona. The $116 million villa-style resort immerses guests within desert and creekside scenery while being minutes away from downtown Sedona.
“We intentionally selected Senoa’s location so that guests could experience all of Sedona’s natural wonders right at their doorstep,” said Bill Wilhelm, president and CEO of R.D. Olson Construction. “From the Snoopy Rock monoliths that turn gold in the desert sun to the cooling canopies of Oak Creek and the grounding presence of the region’s famous energy vortexes, guests will experience everything Sedona has to offer without having to get in a car.”
The resort will be built to conserve Sedona’s scenic beauty and provide economic benefits to the community. Working with R.D. Olson Development and Senoa Investment Partners, all 29 freestanding structures will use site-sensitive materials and be positioned to preserve site lines, salvage Soaptree Yucca plants all while providing guests with unparalleled desert and creekside views. Senoa Resort & Spa will also support the well-being of the people it serves through adding over 150 jobs in hospitality, health, and construction.
Guests will have access to idyllic amenities including a signature two-story creekside restaurant that will incorporate indigenous menu options, a Red Rock Saloon bar concept, an event lawn with green foliage and private creek access, and a poolside experience. A 5,500 square-foot spa is set to be a centerpiece of the resort along with a 3,200 square-foot multi-purpose space suitable to host meetings and events of different sizes.
Rooms will be constructed to suit solo travelers and large groups. Offerings are set to include rooms ranging from 600 square-foot king bedrooms, 720 square-foot suites and a 1,300 square-foot presidential suite. They will be designed to incorporate an indoor-outdoor layout, further connecting guests to their surroundings. The site is also set to accommodate 90 valet parking spaces, which is especially convenient for travelers as over 80% travel to Sedona by car (Sedona Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Bureau).
Senoa Resort & Spa is slated to open in late 2028. Construction will have a phased approach with the first covering the demolition and remediation of existing buildings, grading, drainage, utilities, site work improvements and certification of building pads. The second phase will focus on new villa construction and finalizing site work.
