Ramtech Expands to West Coast to Strengthen Construction Fire Safety Services

Global wireless life safety specialist Ramtech is expanding its North American operations into the Western United States as demand grows for advanced fire safety systems in construction, industrial and marine sectors.

The company announced the expansion alongside the appointment of Andrew Koch as business development manager for the West Coast. Koch will lead Ramtech’s efforts in key regional markets, including Phoenix and California, where construction firms are increasingly adopting wireless fire safety technologies for large-scale and fast-paced projects.

The move follows the company’s recent investment in a logistics hub in Charlotte, North Carolina, which Ramtech said established the operational infrastructure needed to support broader growth across North America.

Company officials said the expansion strategy focuses on delivering localized support while improving access to temporary fire detection, evacuation alerting and wireless site safety systems for contractors and project owners.

Partnerships Support Regional Expansion Strategy

As part of the West Coast push, Ramtech has strengthened partnerships with several major life safety and systems integration firms.

The company recently signed a new agreement with Convergint, a global systems integrator specializing in life safety and security technologies. Ramtech also expanded its collaboration with The Hiller Companies after successful deployments within Hiller’s marine division.

Under the expanded partnership, the companies plan to apply similar safety approaches to broader commercial and industrial projects.

“Our investment in Charlotte was never just about a new office; it was about building the operational backbone required to disrupt a market that has relied on ‘minimum code’ fire safety for too long,” said James Pecz, vice president of Ramtech North America.

“We’ve proven the model on the East Coast, and with Andrew leading our West Coast expansion, we are now positioned to deliver that same level of high-velocity, localized support to the most complex projects in the country,” Pecz added.

Ramtech is also working with regional partners including RTI Systems, BCI Integrated Solutions and Pacific Western Fire Protection to expand service capacity throughout North America.

Wireless Fire Safety Demand Continues to Grow

Industry officials say modern construction projects are increasingly requiring flexible and technology-driven fire safety systems capable of adapting to changing site conditions.

Andrew Koch said many West Coast construction firms are moving beyond traditional fire protection approaches in favor of wireless technologies that improve both compliance and operational efficiency.

“The West Coast market is at a turning point where traditional safety methods are no longer keeping pace with the scale and speed of modern construction,” Koch said. “There is clear momentum, particularly in California, for smarter, wireless solutions that don’t just meet code but actually improve site efficiency.”

Ramtech’s expansion also coincides with the release of the updated 2026 edition of its “No Site Left Behind” whitepaper, which examines fire safety awareness and regulatory trends across the U.S. construction sector.

Founded more than 35 years ago, Ramtech develops wireless life safety systems used across construction, infrastructure and industrial projects worldwide. The company said its technologies have been deployed in more than 33 countries, with over 500,000 units installed globally.
