Ripple Fiber Launches First Washington Construction Project in Ocean Shores

Ripple Fiber has officially kicked off construction in Washington state, starting with a 126-mile fiber deployment in Ocean Shores. The project marks the first city in Washington where Ripple Fiber has broken ground and signals the start of a wider buildout aimed at expanding high-speed broadband access across the region.

The Ocean Shores deployment represents the opening phase of Ripple Fiber’s broader $250 million investment to deliver fiber internet to more than 200,000 homes and businesses across Grays Harbor County and King County. The company said it expects to begin serving its first Washington customers in the first quarter of 2026.

Company Targets Digital Access for 10,000+ Local Locations

Ripple Fiber said the Ocean Shores network will extend fiber availability to more than 10,000 households and businesses, expanding options for residents who rely on internet connectivity for work, education, and daily life.

“Ripple Fiber is excited to bring world-class fiber connectivity to Ocean Shores. Our network will expand digital access across the community, providing high-speed fiber internet to over 10,000 households and businesses,” said Mitzi McMahan, director of government affairs at Ripple Fiber. “The city has provided valuable guidance throughout the process, and residents have been actively engaged, highlighting our shared dedication to delivering resilient, future-ready infrastructure that supports work, education, and everyday life.”

The company emphasized that it is working closely with local officials to manage construction planning and minimize disruption, while keeping residents informed about the timeline and process.

Federal Way Construction Next as Expansion Plans Continue

Ripple Fiber said Ocean Shores is only the beginning. Residents in Federal Way can expect to see construction activity begin in the coming weeks, as the company advances its countywide deployment strategy.

During the expansion, Ripple Fiber said it will continue exploring opportunities to extend service to nearby communities and broaden digital access in additional markets. The company also plans to establish a stronger local footprint by opening an office and hiring within the community as construction progresses.

Ripple Fiber said it is aiming to improve customer experience by building local capacity in each market it enters, rather than operating purely as a remote provider.

10-Gig Fiber Network and Consumer Packages Planned

Ripple Fiber’s build will feature 10 gig, 100% fiber optic infrastructure, offering what the company describes as dependable broadband intended to support communities over the long term.

The provider said customers can expect strong bandwidth performance and symmetrical upload and download speeds, supporting remote work, online learning, gaming and video streaming. Ripple Fiber also highlighted its approach to pricing, noting it offers transparent plans without contracts or hidden fees.

The company’s three core broadband packages include:

  • 500 Mbps
  • 1 Gig
  • 2 Gig

Residents to Receive Build Notices and Construction Updates

Ripple Fiber said some residents have already started receiving direct updates. For homeowners located within the active construction area, the company said additional notices will be shared through mailed letters and door hangers so residents know what to expect during the build phase.

As construction continues, Ripple Fiber is expected to provide ongoing timeline updates as more neighborhoods and service zones are added to the rollout schedule.
