MANSFIELD, Texas – June 26, 2025 – Source Building Group, Inc. is reinforcing its leadership structure with a blend of internal promotions and strategic new hires to support the firm’s ambitious growth trajectory and operational expansion.

Chet Farnsworth has been promoted to Vice President of Preconstruction Services, Abed Kaaki to Senior Project Manager, and Pete Valdez will take on broader responsibilities as General Superintendent. In addition, Herb Reed joins as Vice President of Operations, and Shawn Sinnie comes aboard as Marketing Manager, reinforcing Source’s focus on both field excellence and brand strategy.
“These additions were made to propel the company to new levels of success,” the company said in a release. “All five leaders bring great expertise and experience in their respective fields and will be instrumental in shaping the foundation for Source Building Group, Inc., moving forward.”
With over four decades of experience, Chet Farnsworth has led key functions in project management, estimating, and operations. His new role continues his contributions in business development, estimating, and team-building across sectors such as aviation, hospitality, education, and infrastructure. He credits much of his growth to the mentorship he’s received throughout his career.
Abed Kaaki, now a Senior Project Manager, has over eight years of experience managing commercial construction projects from planning to delivery. Renowned for his strategic planning and attention to detail, Kaaki has demonstrated strong leadership in risk management, scheduling, and cross-functional team coordination. He is known for meeting strict deadlines and regulatory demands while maintaining high-quality standards.
Pete Valdez, a 25-year veteran in commercial construction, expands his role as General Superintendent. Known for his meticulous approach to field operations and project sequencing, Valdez has earned the respect of clients and subcontractors alike. His proactive problem-solving and hands-on leadership style help ensure successful project delivery across job sites.
Joining from outside the firm, Herb Reed takes on the critical role of Vice President of Operations, overseeing construction operations and ensuring project timelines and communication are streamlined. With over 20 years in the field, Reed is well-respected throughout Texas for his experience in planning, execution, and operations leadership across multiple market sectors.
“Herb is an outstanding addition to the Source team,” said President and CEO Trelaine Mapp. “Iron sharpens iron. It’s important for us to onboard people who will help us get better across all disciplines related to construction management and overall operational excellence.”
Reed himself emphasized his enthusiasm: “I have watched and observed Source Building Group, Inc. since its inception. What drew me to this decision was not only the team’s work ethic, but also their ability to consistently secure high-profile projects against the competition and deliver year after year.”
To further strengthen the firm’s market presence and storytelling efforts, Shawn Sinnie joins as Marketing Manager. With more than 20 years of experience in communications, branding, and digital design in the AEC industry, Sinnie will lead brand strategy and visual identity across platforms.
“I am truly excited about the opportunity to shape the visual identity and thought leadership from the ground up,” said Sinnie. “I am eager to lead marketing initiatives across a wide range of platforms to seek out creative solutions that push the boundaries of design to enable the company to achieve new levels of success.”
As Source Building Group enters its 13th year, these leadership investments reflect the company’s focus on strategic growth, improved operational efficiency, and innovation in project delivery.
