TopBuild Promotes John Achille to President and COO to Drive Growth and Operations Strategy
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — TopBuild Corp. has promoted John Achille to president and chief operating officer, expanding his leadership responsibilities as the company looks to strengthen operations and pursue continued growth across North America.
The promotion, effective immediately, places Achille in charge of day-to-day operations for the company’s Installation Services and Specialty Distribution segments, as well as oversight of supply chain functions and strategic growth initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, according to an April 2 announcement.
Achille will continue reporting to CEO Robert Buck as he steps into the expanded role.
Leadership Expansion Targets Operational Excellence
TopBuild leadership said the move reflects Achille’s track record managing multiple business units and helping position the company for long-term success.

Achille will now oversee key operational areas across the company’s extensive footprint, which includes more than 200 installation branches across the United States and over 250 distribution locations spanning the U.S. and Canada.
The company is a leading installer of insulation and commercial roofing, as well as a distributor of insulation and related building products for residential, commercial and industrial markets.
Industry Experience Supports Growth Strategy
Achille joined TopBuild in 2021 following the company’s acquisition of American Building Systems, where he served as vice president of its Coastal Insulation business. Since then, he has held several leadership roles, including executive vice president of TruTeam.
Prior to joining TopBuild, Achille built his career across multiple segments of the construction industry, including positions with Distribution International, Service Partners and TruTeam. He began his career in project engineering and project management at Turner Construction.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in civil and environmental engineering from Rutgers University.
In his new role, Achille emphasized confidence in the company’s long-term outlook and growth potential.
