U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Chair of the Senate Small Business Committee, has recognized Young Construction of Cerro Gordo County as her latest Small Business of the Week. The announcement is part of Ernst’s ongoing effort during the 119th Congress to spotlight one small business from each of Iowa’s 99 counties.

From a Roofing Startup to a Regional Contractor

Founded in 2001 by Dan and Tami Young, Young Construction began as a small roofing company. Over the years, it has expanded into a full-service exterior contractor, offering roofing, siding, gutters, and insulation. Today, the business serves homeowners across Iowa, southern Minnesota, and even as far as Florida.

The company has grown to employ 25 team members who emphasize quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. Its expansion reflects both the rising demand for exterior services and the company’s ability to adapt while keeping customer trust at the center of its mission.
