Eric Schulz and Ray Mobley will advance to Principal Owners, a move the company said combines decades of institutional leadership with a strong foundation built on client and partner relationships.
Schulz, a 20-year veteran of the firm and former vice president, has played a significant role in shaping the company’s development. Throughout his tenure, he has helped sustain Patner’s growth, expand into new markets and strengthen relationships with long-standing clients.
“His focus on quality, service, and partnership has helped shape the firm’s reputation across a diverse portfolio of projects,” the company stated.
Mobley, who has been with Patner Construction for nearly a decade, previously served as director of government construction. During that time, he led the firm’s expansion beyond the Washington, D.C., region, including establishing its Denver office and growing its international footprint.
Under Mobley’s leadership, the company has delivered projects across Europe and the Pacific, positioning itself as a contractor with both domestic and global capabilities.
The company noted that this expansion reflects its broader strategy to diversify geographically while maintaining strong service delivery standards.
As part of the leadership shift, founders David Bredbenner and Charles “Chuck” Mays will step back from day-to-day operations and remain involved in advisory roles. The transition is designed to ensure continuity while empowering the next generation of leadership to guide the company forward.
Founded in 2000, Patner Construction operates from its headquarters in Fairfax, Virginia, with an additional office in Denver and an expanding international presence. The firm has built its reputation on a client-first approach, offering design-build and construction management services across a wide range of sectors.
Company leadership emphasized that the transition aligns with its long-term mission of fostering enduring relationships while continuing to evolve in a competitive construction landscape.
“Building on a strong foundation of relationships while continuing to evolve” remains central to the firm’s strategy as it enters this new phase, according to the announcement.
Patner Construction said the leadership change will position the company to capitalize on new opportunities, strengthen its operational capabilities and sustain momentum in both domestic and international markets.
