Construction is nearing completion on The Village West, a 13-story residential development at 525 Sixth Avenue in Manhattan’s West Village. The project, designed by BKSK Architects and developed by Izaki Group, stands 145 feet tall and encompasses approximately 123,000 square feet.

The building will deliver 68 condominium units along with two ground-floor retail spaces. The property, also addressed as 100–106 West 14th Street, occupies a prominent corner site at the intersection of Sixth Avenue and West 14th Street, just south of Chelsea.

Exterior Work Wraps Up

Recent progress shows the removal of scaffolding and sidewalk sheds, revealing the building’s completed façade. The structure features a distinctive brick exterior with sculpted volumes, rounded edges, and curved corner windows that add depth and texture to the design.

The main entrance along Sixth Avenue is now visible, framed by a dark metal canopy and a wide arched transom window. Temporary barriers remain in place as crews finalize interior work and complete surrounding sidewalk improvements.

Detailed craftsmanship is evident throughout the façade, including intricate brick bond patterns and sculptural stone elements. Select sections of glazed green brick further enhance the building’s visual character, contributing to a modern yet contextually sensitive aesthetic.

Design Features and Outdoor Spaces

The building incorporates multiple upper-level setbacks, which will host landscaped terraces for residents. These outdoor areas are designed to provide both privacy and greenery, aligning with the neighborhood’s residential character.

At ground level, residents will have access to a private outdoor courtyard and a fitness club. Additional outdoor amenities include rooftop features such as a lounge, private dining area, and an outdoor kitchen equipped with barbecue facilities.

Amenities Cater to Modern Living

The Village West offers an extensive suite of amenities across multiple levels. Lower-level features include a yoga studio, recovery space with hydrotherapy and cryotherapy, an infrared sauna, steam room, massage room, and a children’s playroom. Additional conveniences include bicycle storage, a pet washing station, and laundry facilities.

Second-floor amenities are designed for both leisure and productivity, featuring a bar and lounge, billiards room, golf simulator, coworking lounge, and another private courtyard.

Interior renderings highlight a contemporary design approach, with high-end finishes and thoughtfully planned living spaces aimed at urban buyers seeking both comfort and functionality.

Connectivity and Market Outlook

Sales and marketing for the residences are being handled by CORE. The development benefits from strong transit connectivity, located directly adjacent to the 14th Street subway station, which serves the F, M, and L lines.

With final construction activities underway, the project is expected to fully complete later this spring, adding a new residential option to one of Manhattan’s most sought-after neighborhoods.

The completion of The Village West reflects a broader trend in Manhattan development, where architects are increasingly blending contemporary design with traditional materials such as brick to better integrate with historic neighborhoods.

Projects like this highlight the growing demand for boutique condominium developments that prioritize design detail, outdoor space, and wellness-focused amenities. The inclusion of features like hydrotherapy, coworking areas, and landscaped terraces aligns with evolving buyer expectations in the post-pandemic urban housing market.

As new residential inventory continues to emerge across Manhattan, developments that combine architectural character with modern conveniences are expected to remain competitive, particularly in established neighborhoods like the West Village.
